Why use an indoor farm in your school?
Indoor farms engage students. They’re hands-on laboratories, provide real world experience, and draw in all students regardless of academic ability.
Indoor farms are cross disciplinary. Natural fits are chemistry, biology, engineering, writing, nutrition, and ecology, and it’s not difficult to imagine how to incorporate other subjects.
Indoor farms can build community. They provoke interest and curious questions, and can bring together parents, administrators, teachers, and students.
How we can help
You’re faced with a million options if you want to set up a farm. What kind of system will work best? Is one light better than another? How do you pick the right nutrient mix for each plant? What do you do if your plants are growing too slow or too fast?
It can be overwhelming to know where to start.
Kêr Farms was founded with a mission to help educate everyone about indoor farming technology. We are passionate about education and believe that indoor farms are an incredible tool. We draw on our backgrounds as teachers, students, and academics to help schools set up and operate indoor farms.
We can help you:
Set up the farm properly
Advise you on growing crops
Build a curriculum that fits your needs
